  11. MATHPLOT is a set of graphics aided programs designed to help           
  12. scientists and engineers analyze data.  Routines are included for       
  13. least-squares fitting polynomials to sets of data points, solving       
  14. simultaneous linear equations, numerically integrating a curve defined  
  15. by a set of data points, calculating simple statistical parameters for  
  16. data sets, and for calculating the coefficients of a Fourier series     
  17. for a periodic function described by a set of data points.

  19. Programs are also included for calculating and plotting Fourier spectra 
  20. and Bessel functions, for plotting data sets and for plotting and       
  21. comparing user-specified functions with data sets.  Screen graphics     
  22. capabilities are used by most of the programs, and the host computer    
  23. must be equipped with a graphics card and monitor (CGA, EGA, VGA, MCGA  
  24. or Hercules).  MATHPLOT detects which graphics hardware is present and  
  25. provides the appropriate drivers.
